Specialization in system integration or application development
The training as an IT specialist in the field of system integration is completed in the "Central Services, IT and Fleet Management" department of the Personnel and Organization Office of the City of Bonn. At the end of your training, you will be able to set up and maintain key components of the city administration's IT infrastructure. You will also be able to competently advise your colleagues from the entire city administration and help them with problems with end devices or the associated peripherals (e.g. printers).
During your training, you will also learn how to network hardware and software components to create complex systems. This includes differentiating between operating systems and various basic applications as well as their adaptation and configuration. You will also learn how to apply administration techniques to basic systems. The methodology of troubleshooting and its elimination is also part of your training.
You will be supported by qualified trainers during your training in this profession. However, you should bring a few things with you: Knowledge of mathematics or a good understanding of numbers and logic are important, for example. You should also have some knowledge of English. A keen interest in IT and working with computers is of course a basic requirement for the apprenticeship.
