The fire and rescue services of the City of Bonn ensure safety with around 350 employees, around 500 volunteer firefighters and the emergency services of the integrated aid organizations in three fire stations and one rescue station as well as at 18 volunteer fire department locations.
As an emergency paramedic, you assess the state of health in medical emergencies and decide whether to call a doctor. You will also provide first aid and, if necessary, take immediate life-saving measures. You will also look after patients during transportation. During your training as an emergency paramedic, you will learn basic medical principles, first aid measures and the correct documentation of operations and answering emergency calls.
The training initially lasts three years and concludes with the state examination for emergency paramedics. After successful completion of the training at the City of Bonn, the candidate will be employed as a fire officer candidate (duration: approx. 15 months), provided that they have the appropriate personal and health aptitude.
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer further employment as an emergency paramedic without subsequent training as a fire officer.
Recruitment requirements:
- Minimum age at the time of recruitment 18 years, as a rule maximum age 37 years and 9 months (§ 14 LBG NRW, here you will also find the exceptions)
- Citizenship of a member state of the European Union (§ 7 Para. 1 BeamtStG)
- Secondary school leaving certificate after grade 10 with successfully completed vocational training of at least two years' duration or entrance qualification for specialized secondary schools
- Class B driving license
- German swimming badge "silver" (no youth swimming badge, proof at the latest for the recruitment test)
- Health suitability (examinations will be arranged accordingly)
- Unrestricted physical fitness for the fire department
Payment:
Depending on the year of training, you will receive the following monthly gross training allowance:
- Year of training: 1,340.69 euros
- Year of training: 1,402.07 euros
- Year of training: 1,503.38 euros
In addition, you will receive capital-forming benefits and a special annual payment. If you pass the final examination on your first attempt, you will also receive a final bonus of 400.00 euros.
You are entitled to 30 vacation days per calendar year.
