Candidate senior surveyor

The training as a surveying inspector candidate is carried out at the City of Bonn in the Office for Land Management and Geoinformation. The Office for Land Management and Geoinformation is responsible for all matters relating to cadastre and surveying, land law and land management as well as spatial data processing in the city area, which covers approximately 141 square kilometers.

The main tasks of the office are divided into the following areas

  • Real estate cadastre
  • Surveying and geodata management
  • Land readjustment and property valuation

As a surveying inspector candidate, you will undergo various stages of training in the individual departments of the office during your practical training and receive a wide range of training from trained and qualified employees of the office. During your training in Bonn, you will be familiarized with all tasks related to surveying the local area and maintaining and updating the data in the real estate cadastre. The activities include both the data collection to be carried out and the further processing of the data. The core of the tasks is the administrative processing and assessment of all tasks that arise.

In the area of land readjustment, the processing of building land reallocation measures is taught in terms of technical and administrative procedures. In property valuation, the focus is on determining the market value of undeveloped and developed properties for a wide variety of requirement profiles. In addition, the separate "planning law" training section teaches the basic principles of regional and state planning as well as the development and creation of development plans.

The theoretical part of the training takes place at the Bergisches Studieninstitut für kommunale Verwaltung in Wuppertal. In addition to the practical part at the City of Bonn and the theoretical part in Wuppertal, you will also complete internships at the Cologne district government and at the land registry of the Bonn district court. The phases of theoretical and practical training alternate during the training period.

The training as a surveying inspector candidate is completed in the form of a preparatory service. You will be employed as a civil servant on revocation and complete your training with the career examination for career group 2, first entry level, specializing in "technical services".

The aim of the training is to optimally prepare you for your work as a candidate senior surveyor. After completing their training, senior surveyors work in the wide range of specialist areas of the Office for Land Management and Geoinformation. Here they take on tasks in the technical areas of engineering surveying, real estate surveying, geoinformation and cartography, in property valuation or in areas with a particular legal focus, such as the management of the real estate cadastre and the implementation of land readjustment procedures. After gaining appropriate professional experience, interesting management tasks await you. The City of Bonn also promotes personal professional development with attractive further training opportunities in line with technical progress.

Training with the City of Bonn begins on August 1 of each year and lasts twelve months.

Recruitment requirements:

  • As a rule, maximum age of 40.5 years at the time of recruitment (§ 14 LBG NRW, here you will also find the exceptions)
  • Completed studies in surveying or geoinformatics (Bachelor's or Diploma) with sufficient specialist knowledge (Annex 7 VAPgvD NRW)
  • Citizenship of a member state of the European Union (Section 7 (1) BeamtStG)

Payment:

During your traineeship, you will receive a gross monthly salary of around 2,400 euros.

You are entitled to 30 vacation days per calendar year.
