Bonn makes a career.

Administrative IT Specialist

Do you have a high school diploma, entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences or an educational level recognized as equivalent? Are you interested in administrative tasks at Bonn City Council and do you see your future in IT? Then you should use your potential and aim for a dual study program as an administrative IT specialist.

Dual study means that you will study at the North Rhine-Westphalia University of Applied Sciences for Police and Public Administration (HSPV NRW) in Cologne, but at the same time complete a preparatory service as a civil servant on revocation with the City of Bonn. The advantage of a dual course of study is that you can apply the knowledge you have acquired directly in practice. You will get to know your future field of work in Bonn's city administration, get to know your colleagues and be involved in solving specific administrative tasks. Last but not least, a monthly income provides a solid financial basis.

Our aim is to implement our tasks in an even more efficient, modern and customer-oriented way. In order to achieve this, administrative IT specialists are more important today than ever before. Work with us to continue to be a modern and service-oriented administration for citizens.

Administrative IT specialists develop methods and procedures to solve tasks and problems in public administration. They analyze and optimize existing systems. They design and implement IT systems tailored to the needs of the Bonn city administration. They also supervise and organize processes in data processing.

The administrative IT specialist course lasts three years. It is divided into different modules, so that four study sections and five practical sections alternate. The course ends with the award of the Bachelor of Arts - B.A. degree, which is recognized throughout Europe. At the same time, it meets the requirements for a Master's degree at all German and European universities.

If you have decided on this course of study, you must first apply to the City of Bonn. From there, you will be allocated a place to study at the HSPV NRW in Cologne.
