Wanted: Talents for a new mobility (m/f/d)

The City of Bonn wants to reduce CO2 emissions by at least 40 percent by 2030 and become climate-neutral by 2035. We are currently undergoing an exciting process of reorientation in the mobility transition required to achieve this, which we are shaping together with our employees. By implementing the goals of the citizens' initiative Radentscheid Bonn, the infrastructure for cycling and walking in particular is to be significantly improved over the next few years. For example, a continuous cycle path network is to be built, new cycle paths and footpaths created, new bicycle parking spaces installed and major traffic light intersections made safe.


For this motivating job, we are looking for committed people who are actively involved in important major projects and overarching project groups.

In the city planning office

We are looking for creative minds to develop concepts and strategies to implement the above-mentioned goals. To do this, you must have a degree in transportation, civil engineering, urban and regional planning, geography or a comparable course of study with a specialization in transportation planning or relevant professional experience in transportation planning.

In the civil engineering office

We are specifically looking for reinforcement in the areas of planning and civil engineering, particularly in the fields of road and traffic engineering. You will convince us with a high affinity for mobility issues in an urban environment, professional experience in the implementation and coordination of construction measures and a degree in road design or traffic planning/engineering.


You should have the following personal qualities, among others:

  • The ability to think and act strategically and conceptually
  • A passion for communicating complex interrelationships in the fields of road construction and traffic planning
  • Enjoy working with integrated planning and design processes
  • Commitment in dealing with stakeholders, commissioned engineering offices and the perception of the client's role
  • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
